Quickly Critique My Website ?

Hello,
I'm in the process of building content for my website, with onsite SEO being at the forefront of my mind as I do so. Are there any takes out there up for quickly looking at it, and giving me any feedback on my onsite efforts? ...I'm particularly curious if using the <H1> tag for the title of all my pages is a good move, or if Google will think my site is spammy because of that? I actually did that because I was reprimanded by a CSS guy for using a <p> tag. ...My onsite focus so far has just been getting written content up. ...SEO is so fun. :-)

It is: www dot draftingservices dot com

Sincerely,
Brian

Re: Quickly Critique My Website ?

you need some major work - title tags are limited - should add location and other terms - look at what the people who are ranking for autoCad services are using

Home should not be the h1 tag - it should be the location and autoCAD services

the portfolio page is using code to change blue prints and the links are numbers - make each a page and have proper titles and descriptions

when you click on the few links in services offered from the home page you drop that nav on the right so it becomes a dead end where they have to go up to the top nav to see another

Start looking at what others in the space are doing

Re: Quickly Critique My Website ?

I've now copied the on page "services" nav bar to each of the services pages. Thanks, that was a good point. It is now more user friendly, and I've perhaps gained SEO advantages because my site now has more keyword rich anchor text.

Question remaining:
On my site the title of each page is the same. It is: "DraftingServices.com Drafting services on tap." The text is in a <h1> tag. Is that too spammy? Should I use a different html tag.

Re: Quickly Critique My Website ?

Let me clarify. Perhaps I should have used the word "masthead" instead of title. I have the same masthead on every page of my site, and currently I'm using the h1 tag. I'm wondering if Google will think this is too spammy, since it does contain one of my targetted keyword phrases?

Yikes!! I can't, it's my logo. For example, Search Engine Watch does the same thing on this site. At the top of each page they have: SearchEngineWatch.com

Re: Quickly Critique My Website ?

I put my masthead on the h4 tag, because I thought that was about the prioriety it holds on each page.

I give your site a grade of 50...there are some major (and basic) things from an SEO point of view that need to be addressed.

Re: Quickly Critique My Website ?

The good thing about your site is the domain age which equals power....but again many things wrong! You have a low amount of indexed pages and a low amount of links.

for instance your competitor great cad has over 500 backlinks

you have more room for your keywords in the title like your name! it should read

Drafting Services - AutoCad Drafting Services....yattta yatta

and there is still a big one out there that Im saving...I sent you a PM and/or email me
