Google totally dropped me. How do I find out why?

my site is almost 2 years old and packed with origional content. THeres no tricks or funny business, its just a ton of content, similar to wikipedia.

Google was loving us for a year, then 3 days ago out of nowhere *POOF*, all gone. Theyre not sending us anything anymore.

We have more quality inbound links than ever and we dont even ask for them.
Is there any way I can find out why they dropped us? I just want to know what happened.

okay is it scrapped wikipedia content? is it the same except for some rewriting?

Oh no not at all. Its totally origional product reviews that we wrote ourselves. I just used wikipedia as an example.

Maybe, it was hacked by other intruders out there or you didn't update you site.

well I update a lot, more than my competitors actually.

But I dont know if my site was hacked. Is there any way to find out?

What are the results of a [site:example.com] search? What about for [www.example.com] and [example.com] searches? Do you have a Webmaster Tools account? If so, have you checked for messages or possible problems?

Is Google sending absolutely no traffic or just not for specific search terms? If it just affects specific terms, where did your site rank before the drop? Where does it rank now?

I did [www.example.com] and still have 22,000 results.
when you search for just my site Im on top and even have a directory under my site in Google, and I think that means Google likes me still and thinks my site is an important resource.

But I totally dropped off for several keywords. Before I was on the first page and sometimes in the top 3. now Im on page #5. out of nowhere.

the only thing I changed, I think, Is that I added a banner to my site. could that knock me way back like that?
My competitors have more banners than me and are on the first page, grrr
