Re: Google cached another Domain
This could have been a result of domain hijacking I think. There should have been some kind of 302 redirect from the another website, As some black hat's do this to win competition. Is there a way to take care of these? Yes
Just make a note of this problem here.. as soon as you see this happening http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html Last edited by ganeshjacharya : 02-29-2008 at 03:11 AM. Reason: g |

Again are there any genuine reasons for such situations?

Re: Google cached another Domain
A 302 hijack is hard to pull off, you need the right set of conditions and no cleaning by yourself.
I also don't think it is as it wouldn't have just fixed itself it would still be displaying the other URL even now. It was probably just a mix up with retrieving the results to be honest. Also if it was a 302 when he typed his URL in he 2 would be redirected to the other site along with every 1 who views that page not just the SE's that's what makes then easy to notice. Unless it was a very clever hacker who noticed their was no cleaning and did a cloak just for the 302. The chances of some one pulling that off though is around a billion to 1. To be honest I would put it down to a natural mistake if it was just a one off. Does this happen regularly and how long did it last the last time?
