Any tips on how to manage a campaign with several hundred keywords?
I'm about to work on quite a large campaign with several hundered keywords and ads. Any tips from you seasoned experts out there on how to manage these types of campaigns?

In general, I would not bother with any auto management tools at that level. Use AdWords editor to manage your keywords and ads into relevant adgroups.
I actually prefer managing a few hundred keywords and ads manually. I believe if you have the time, you should too. You get very "familiar" with your account when you manage manually and that can be a huge plus. |

Re: Any tips on how to manage a campaign with several hunder keywords?
I would have to agree with Redfly. I manually manage an account with several thousand keywords, and the Adwords Editor is a Godsend. Sometimes I have to do mass changes, and the Editor makes it a million times easier.
I would also strongly suggest tracking your ROI and conversions at the keyword level (if you don't already). It's one thing for a very small advertiser with 100 or less keywords to track at the campaign or group level, it's entirely different when the account starts growing beyond that and costs start to rise. You have to know which keywords are converting and which ones are dragging your ROI down. |

Do you have one keyword per Ad Group (including plurals and variations of the word)?
If I did so, I could manage ROI/bids at the Ad Group level... Since someone mentioned ads, for testing, how many ads would you recommend per ad group. When AdWords added this capability at first I tried testing 3-4 ads per ad group and it became a little unmanageable, mainly b/c I didn't have a testing methodology at the time. Would you recommend two at a time per Ad Group? Testing one element per ad until refined...lather, rinse, repeat. |
