Visualizing Google Campaign Structures

Go off on a tangent with me here and dream up the future of adwords editor.

Imagine an application that created a visual representation of your complete adwords account. Campaigns, Adgroups, Ads and keywords all visually represented in a cloud like diagram to give a simple, more understandable view of your campaign structure.

Now overlay data on top of that diagram.
Google's estimated data could help one design and test a campaign structure that ensures there are no significant gaps in the structure, or overlaps in the campaigns. Perhaps you could enter in budget and CPC max/min bids, test with specific keyword terms and match types or use other variables to predict how your model could perform.

Once the model has been finalized you save the structure.
Account Structure V.1 and you bring it live.

As time goes on and data is collected advertisers could overlay their campaign visualization with both the estimated and real performance data to identify areas that have met the models goal or fallen short of it.

Finally, best of all would be the ability to make changes to your campaign structure with a simple drag and drop. A visual way to cut and paste an adgroup from one campaign into another.
Grab a bunch of keywords from one adgroup and drag them into another, or drag them into a newly created adgroup. Grab a whole adgroup and drop it into another campaign. Even duplicate then drag and drop search campaigns into a content campaign, a local targeted campaign, or an international campaign. With a graphical interface like this advertisers could quickly analyze, create, test and deploy large, but extremely tight campaigns and supporting adgroups.

At the end of the day it all comes down to how well and quickly advertisers can interpret our data and make appropriate changes. The more changes we make in a shorter time frame the quicker we will get to our goals.

Database Modelers will certainly relate to this type of application. Have any of you thought about adwords editor growing up into a visual modeler/editor application like this? Have you seen any third party apps that have a similar function?

I hope this post makes sense, in a perfect world I would have created example graphics to show what I mean, but I dont have the time for that as I'm too busy creating, analyzing and editing my adwords campaigns.

The ability to create appropriate landing pages on the fly should be a thought for Google..... provide us with software that will make relevancy more attached to the keyword's landing page...

dynamic insertion into title tags etc on the fly....

Re: Visualizing Google Campaign Structures

How about modeling negative keyword lists.

Create a negative keyword list model and test it against past search query data and see if the queries you wish to eliminate have been properly targeted.

When you say "Create appropriate landing pages on the fly" and "dynamic insertion in the title tags"... this sounds like something that is not beneficial for Google nor its users. I can't imagine Google would want to provide us with software to make our sites seem more relevant.

Re: Visualizing Google Campaign Structures

Not really.... if used the right way to ensures proper use of terms... good when you have a group with 20 words saying the same thing but not using the same words...

but it could be abused... then again what can't
