Re: Reciprocal Links Vs One Way Links

Recips are still OK as long as they're not over-done and only make up a reasonable percentage of the total linking profile. One way inbound links from on-topic, quality sites are the best, according to most opinions.

One-way links is considered to have more value/weight than reciprocal links. However, you must take into consideration the relevancy of the links since they have greater impact in terms of PR rating

Both are helpful in increasing the PR but obtaining one-way links is a daunting task even for experienced webmasters while reciprocal links are available in link directories. You can pursue webmasters to exchange their links but you cannot compel one to place your link on his site.

Rubbish. PR has nothing to do with relevancy.

Re: Reciprocal Links Vs One Way Links

I think articles with links are better than just links. You can write an article and post it on one of the free article sites or blogs with links back to your site. I know it is more work than just a link exchange, but Google does not look down on that. Plus, you get more relevance, IMO. The article could have many keywords. Make sure you link the keywords and don't just link the words "click here" or something like that.

Those are my ideas on the subject.

One more thing - I don't think you should just link to your home page. Link to specific articles (original content) on your site.

Re: Reciprocal Links Vs One Way Links

Right said.........Marcia, but how does a relatively new domain go about getting one-way links? Either it has to be very rich on content or else good on SERP ranks......

But sustaining either of this is relatively difficult at the initial stages. What do you suggest?

Re: Reciprocal Links Vs One Way Links

There are many article submission sites. Submit articles with the links to your site. You can also create a blog and submit an article with a link (Google Blogger is free, plus you can place ads on it).

This might sound crazy but if you build a great site and simply ask enough people for one way links, you might be surprised how easy it is/

Re: Reciprocal Links Vs One Way Links

Here are a couple sites a webmaster can submit articles to - and give themselves inbound links:

Article Dashboard

Ezine Articles

Type in "Free Content" or "Ezine" at Google and go through the list of sites a person can submit articles to.

Also, you can allow others to submit their articles to you.

I agree John. (With a website where you have invested enough time in creating content)

However, what do have to say if you have a user genertaed content based website? How would you then control the quality in as less a time span?

Thanks for your feedback.

UGC needs tight moderation, and you could consider seeding it as needed.

Re: Reciprocal Links Vs One Way Links

John: I agree with moderation! However, what about seeding the wbsite? Do you mean adding content generated by us or hired content writers? What would you suggest for this website 'Infodoro.com'?

Re: Reciprocal Links Vs One Way Links

By seeding I just mean that sometimes one or more "users" that are friendly to your agenda may start or participate in topics in order to keep them going or steer them.

Re: Reciprocal Links Vs One Way Links

I think both techniques are good . one way linking is good but by one way linking u can just increase your back link u can't populer your site. but by reciprocal linking u can increase your back link and popular your site. so i think reciprocal linking is the best way for collect the relevant links but by one way linking u can't collect reelvant links.

.One way inbound links certainly can be relevant. Nobody would give such links to irrelevant sites - unless they were being paid to, which is risky business nowadays.

Re: Reciprocal Links Vs One Way Links

I agree Marcia. The inbound links are the most important, and in fact the reciprocating link could work against you.

I have been doing experimentation with internal links. First off, I work on a main page for a subject. All subsequent pages I write or put up will have links to that page, with relevant text.

It is hard to get a one word top SERP. For instance "Cars". It is difficult to get on the first page in the Google Search Results. But what about "Cheap Cars Online"? We didn't use that term exactly, but we have had luck with similar keywords.

In fact, we I have been able to land two pages in the number 4 position and a third page on the second page. This is within a month of posting articles and links.

Those pages have to be good though. Obviously others have linked to them too. But we have noticed an increase in revenue.

I just thought I would share that.
