Have Campaigns Reached Their Limits?
Each SE has a campaign limit
For those new to PPC, think of the campaign as the top level of a directory under which you would create related sub campaigns. Campaign > Accountants Adgroup > CPA Adgroup > Auditing One of the strategies for a national advertiser with mulitple services is to be able to control their campaigns and sub campaigns at a geo targeted (state) level. You would use Geo targeting settings to filter down to the state level and keywords to further refine potential ad impressions down to the state/city/zip code level. So you would like to set up a PPC account like this: Campaign > California Adgroup > CPA Adgroup > CFP Adgroup > Tax Auditing Campaign > Texas Adgroup > CPA Adgroup > CFP Adgroup > Tax Auditing Not only can the advertiser uniquely control the message, but as business expands or retracts from a particular state, or adds/removes a service offering for a particular state the affected campaigns can be toggled off and on with incredible accuracy. Unfortunately, Search Engines only allow a limited number of campaigns! 20 for Yahoo 25 for Google 25 for MSN (Need confirmation) So a State driven account structure will not work if you plan to cover more than 25 states! Have others run into this problem? Have you worked out a solid solution? |

An alphabetized campaign doesn't fit, either.
My solution is to bug the CS reps at the engines till they raise my campaign limit. Melissa |
