Dec. '05 Yahoo! Weather Report: Update Underway!

Tim Mayer has posted the sixth Yahoo! Search Weather Report

Yahoo! Search Weather Report: Update Tonight!

Quote:
We will be making changes to the index tonight. You should see some changes in ranking as well as some shuffling of the pages that are included in the index. This update will be completed tomorrow (Thursday).
That was posted yesterday, the 14th of Dec. so we should already be seeing some changes.

I guess everyone is happy with this update, nobody is whining so it must be good news for everyone.

I'm not whining about it at all, but my eye-catching project to check out this month is why certain doorway pages are ranking for some keywords when all they've got for content is a link to the site that actually sells the stuff. No, they're not beating me in rankings, but with each update there's always some type of site that's just fun to start digging around to see what makes them tick.

I'm whining a little bit. At least now I'm showing again, not as good as before the big gutting out a couple months ago.

It finally picked up a page I uploaded over a year ago.

Now, if it'll just pick up the other page I uploaded at the same time I'll be happy as a pig in fresh mud.

I was looking for a thread to complain in but didn't notice this one so I started another one with a broader complaint.

My Yahoo complaint is "Yahoo had been referring far more people to my website than Google for a long time, but that all changed this month. Overall, from all search engines and other sources, I now get about half of the visitors as I did last year--I think this week it's been even less than half."

There's been a BIG change in referrals from Yahoo this month, and it might be all from this week. I noticed my visitors have been WAY down for the last couple of days. This has been a bad update for me.
