I have many sites that I have been working towards natural listings.
I have begun to move the needle on big G, MSN just loves all of these sites, first page on most for my top keyword phrases. At one point I was doing okay on Y! but in the last year or so - the not a single site I am concentrating on is doing anything on Y! One of my clients who was unhappy that not even the name of his business typed into Y! would bring his site up - I just experimented with paid inclusion into the Directory. Does Y! play by different rules than G & MSN? Is there things I may have done to effect G frowned upon by Y! - whats good for one not so much for another? Any ideas, Any advise? CC |

All three of them are different, and at times it seems that what one of them likes a lot can cause the site or pages to drop at another. With Google, so much is dependent on inbound links that there doesn't seem to be as much that can be done wrong on the site itself as there is with Yahoo, since Yahoo seems to take on-page factors into more consideration.
I know that isn't much help, but all we can do is brainstorm a bit to try to come up with something that may be hindering Yahoo rankings. For starters, how are inbound links to the site? Are there several of good quality, and are any on the same IP or recognizably under the same ownership? Any inbound sitewides? |

I went to Y! and typed in links: and then the domain name of the sites that have preformed horribly as of late on Y!
Here are the results: Results 1 - 10 of about 16 for links:veininnovations.com Results 1 - 6 of about 6 for links:georgiaftz.com Results 1 - 4 of about 9 for links:edwardfritzi.com Results 1 - 1 of about 1 for links:nonprofitbuilder.com All pretty low. All reside on the same dedicated web server. All use a virtual IP I assume. I would be a common name on the Tech in a who is. Thanks for your response and willingness to help. cc |

I noticed the same thing when I search for my most popular keywords: political offices. My Government Agencies & Poitical Offices page is number one in Google, and high everywhere else I checked, but it's nowhere to be found in Yahoo. I expect things like this to happen. I'm not about to analyze every webpage that's listed ahead of mine.
