Google Listing is dismal

Hello everyone,

Our site, www.datatrakpos.com has been around for about 6 years and while we've been indexed in google almost from the beginning, our ranking is really bad. There are newer companies with less feature rich products getting in front of us which isn't difficult since we're hovering around page 11 or 12 with the following popular search terms for our industry:

restaurant pos
restaurant point of sale

I've read and read various sites (including google) to try and get better results, but it seems that nothing that I do seems to help.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Google intentionally or unintentionally will force you into Adwords.

Unfortunate fact is that as the entire world gets on the web that means that everyone gets pushed down.

Datatrak, has your website ever ranked highly in Google throughout its 6-years history? Or did the ranking just dropped?

Your website ranks in both MSN (11 or so for both terms) and Yahoo (17 for restaurant point of sale, lower for restaurant pos). It's listed in the top 200 for Google for restaurant point of sale, below some affiliate/marketplace listings and none at all for restaurant pos.

I symphatize with your Google ranking predicament - you're in the same boat with a lot of webmasters though.

Where/how do you check on ranking on words for search engines?

I'm unclear about what you mean by "how" I check the ranking - I simply type "restaurant pos" and "restaurant point of sale" on google, Yahoo! and MSN, and then look for datatrak.

To make it easy to find the website in google, I searched on www.google.com/ie - the website is listed at no. 106 or so.

Yes we were ranking nicely about 2 years ago. First 3-4 pages at the worst.

We're trying to get some more relevant links to our site established as well...
