Name The Google Jet
In case you missed it, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin are apparently buying a Boeing 767. It may be for their personal use, or it may come out that they want to shuttle Googlers around.
I think it need a name, whatever the case. I joked it might be "Google Force One," but Air Google I suppose might work. Or AirGoogle? GoogleAir? Or will that be the name of the fleet, and the plane itself has a different name. Anyway, got your own idea of a name? Jot it down here, I'll make up a poll after we get a few, and we can have a vote! |

I've been to get my own SEOmoz 767 for a while now... Looks like they beat me to the punch. I bet they spent lots of Viagra AdSense click dollars on that.

Well considering how much data Google has collected, how they are processing it and making it available.. how about naming the new plane "Big Brother"

What's wrong with plain old GoogleJet? It would be consistent with Google's other naming conventions.
Could also be Gjet... GeeJet... or maybe jet.google.com. FroogleJet feels like an oxymoron, though the purchase might turn out to be a cost saver. |

G-Force
G-Bird and my personal vote goes to: Superion (you'd have to be a Transformer nerd to get it but it fits with the google server set up, and well, Google is superior... ) |

A 767 is to large to land on the Black Rock City playa. This has to be a mistake!

How about eigenplane?
"eigenplane is a two-dimensional invariant subspace in a given vector space. By analogy with the term eigenvector for a vector which, when operated on by a linear operator is another vector which is a scalar multiple of itself, the term eigenplane can be used to describe a two-dimensional plane (a 2-plane), such that the operation of a linear operator on a vector in the 2-plane always yields another vector in the same 2-plane" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eigenplane ![]() After all, he company is named after googol, 10 to the power of 100 (1 followed by 100 zeros); and the Head Office is named after googolplex (1 followed by a googol of zeroes); and the IPO filing was to raise $2,718,281,828, which was the product of "e" and $1 billion, (where "e" - Euler's number - is the base of the natural logarithm -and equals about 2.718281828). Which would be much more politically correct than STFW or UTFG http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STFW ![]() |

Hi All,
Like the thread or at least the idea behind it. Aircraft owners normally spend more time IMHO thinking about a suitable regristration for their planes as well as just the name of the bird... Ok I can't imagine why they'd consider taking the aircraft off a "N" November registration (US) for a UK "G" Golf listing except for the fact it could be something like: G-OOGL or G-OGLE instead of N12345. Just a thought. Happy landings all. EG Last edited by dannysullivan : 09-14-2005 at 05:52 AM. Reason: no live links in signatures per forum FAQ, please |

For the fleet (should there be one), I like "Gaggle of Googles"
For the first plane, I am fond of "The Google Giggle" |

It's GPlane, it's Gplane!!!
I'll keep it simple, just like Google and go with "GPlane".
