Verizon superpages.com announces "Pay For Calls"

Verizon's local directory has a new paid search option coming soon. In an announcement this morning, the arguably leading local search provider gave details about its new "pay for calls" system.

I had the chance to discuss this evening with Verizon superpages.com's Wesley Lones some of the benefits this option will provide to marketers. The system will require a click-through to a second page that lists a special number tied to the advertisement. This is a great option for those with or without a website that are looking to drive offline sales by using online and offline marketing that has been popular and provided excellent ROI for years - a classic pay for performance deal. The pay for call program will not be limited to online advertising, as Verizon is also making special pages available to advertisers within its local home-delivered directories.

More to come...

Webvisitor will become famous soon enough
Verizon will not be using Ingenio or it's contractor Miva. They will employ their own "patented" product.
