Although this was already released recently

It seems to have begun appearing as recent news among several trade magazines

We've got a short post on the blog here . The key detail to keep in mind is that this new service is taking in XHTML and other content designed for small screens.

Want to try with a non-mobile browser?

Want to submit?

Want to learn more about formats?

SearchDay had a rundown on how local mobile search works here:
http://searchenginewatch.com/searchd...le.php/3496906

Panicked that you need to translate. By default, Google does that for your page and has done so since 2000:

Threadwatch had some nice comments from when the new consolidated page came out in March:

And remember that mobile search is a completely different creature from SMS search, where rather than browsing, you get info sent to you. Google SMS services for the US and UK:

http://www.google.co.uk/sms/

Yahoo also has a similar mobile index in development, not yet released, but you can submit here:

Just to clarify, I don't think this URL is for submitting your site to Google Mobile:

http://mobile.google.com/partner.html

Rather, I believe that page allows you to add the Google search bar to your own mobile site. From what I can tell, Google doesn't have a way to submit your site to mobile search.

Basically, you need to convert your site to mobile-friendly XHTML or WML, and Google will eventually find you on its special mobile crawl.

Incidentally, here's a great tutorial for converting your site to XHTML mobile:
