There is so much information on the web and it is becoming more and more complex to pin point the exact information you seek. What are the best places on the web to find information on people. I would love to find one place where you can find almost any information on people.

I am a librarian and the best source to find almost any type of information on anyone is through the P2P search engine <snip>
Mod note: Thanks, but the other thread that was started about this service is over in the Beta Test Forum now: http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/...ead.php?t=2421 Last edited by Marcia : 10-28-2004 at 05:23 PM. Reason: typo |

I am also a librarian.
Here are a few, just a few, suggestions. 1) Argali. This free search app (no spyware) simultaneously searches SEVERAL phone directories. I wrote a review for SearchDay. http://www.searchenginewatch.com/sea...le.php/3091071 2) A relatively new "specialized" tool comes from Eliyon. http://www.eliyon.com/ A couple of free demos. 3) Knowx offers several databases. Fee-based. http://www.knowx.com 4) You'll need to check public record databases. The best directory for these tools comes from SearchSystems.net http://www.searchsystems.net A great deal of this content remains on the Invisible Web. 5) MANY public libraries offer FREE REMOTE access (no need to go to the library) to Who's Who and Biography Resource Center. 6) Genie Tyburski offers a excellent list of tools on her Virtual Chase site. http://www.virtualchase.com/people/index.html 7) You can sometimes help find the age of a US citizen via the free lookup from USSearch, also a fee-based service. http://preview.ussearch.com/preview/preview.jsp I'll share some additional sources soon. CNN is going to report on Abika.com, September 11 to September 13, 2004, on their two shows, Next@CNN hosted by Daniel Sieberg and “People in the News” hosted by Paula Zahn.

Thank you all, and especially thanks to you Gary, for the helpful resources. No sense in having two running about the same site, if there's anything else, let's continue the discussion in the other thread about this site that was moved over to the Beta Test forum:
