Yahoo optimization factors?

Can anyone help me in listing out the important factors that Yahoo considers in ranking a site at the top position?

Yahoo is Wide Open right know … All we know there’s no a magic SEO formula for Yahoo, but tweak your site a little bit and you’ll see the improvement for sure!

There are many factors just like with the other major search engines. If you are new to SEO or to Yahoo Optimization, search through the SEO CHAT in their articles, blog and even forum section for Yahoo Optimization techniques.

You will find good on-page SEO combined with decent content and link building does yuu no harm on Yahoo. In fact when I conclude a proper seo campaign which includes targeted link building, quality content writing and good on-page seo I usually find myself with a top 10 ranking on all the major search engines for my targeted keywords!

A few decent quality inbound links will do it, for moderately competitive you don't need a ton. A Yahoo or ODP directory link doesn't hurt at all if you can manage it, they're always good to have. Though Yahoo will show your directory title and description rather than yours that's actually on your site, so think twice about that.

For sitewide navigation - make it intuitive and user friendly. Don't "stuff" but including keywords in your text navigation is always search engine and user friendly, it helps all know what the site is about.

Yahoo leans very much toward a good balance of on-page factors - and there are a TON of those. It's a lot to list, but (mind you, almost embarrassing because the site is far off from halfway started), I've got a list of a lot of the onpage factors that can be looked at, in an easy outline form

NOT all, there are more details but it's a work in progress. Just don't use everything possible, write copy naturally for users, that's basically who the site is for. Read it out loud to see if it sounds natural and flows well - but use some of those factors to get the page optimized.

So do you think that a site being frames based has a worse effect in Google or Yahoo?

Sites in frames are not a good idea all around, either from a user POV or for search. Definitely not great for Yahoo.

I had a feeling that was the case... now to convince those above we need to switch from frames!
