Yahoo search command - shamelessly broken?
This is one of those posts where I put my hand up and admit I might just be being stupid.
Yahoo supports the inurl: search command. You can search for inurl:example and meet with success. You can go to the advanced search tab at this point, click, and see example and "in the URL of the page" pre-loaded. Try changing that to example.com. You're doing a search for inurl:example.com. That's a valid URL part. I might be searching for pages from the example.com site (yes, there are other ways to do this) or I might be looking for redirect URLs (like www.example2.com?redirect=example.com). It's the inurl:example.com that's broken. There are no results. I have some luck with inurl:example inurl:com but it's not really the same search. |
