"Find web pages from the site..." - New?

DaveN has a blog that I have in my RSS list, today he posted an entry named Google site: where he says that he did a search on www.ibm.com in Google and found a new option available. The new option is "Find web pages from the site www.ibm.com". I personally do not remember seeing this option in the past, have you?

advanced search has had "only/don't return results from the site or domain [enter your site here]" for a while, which looks pretty much the same thing.

Gurtie Agreed, but the masses don't use advance search, my question is why make it so easy for the masses to use site: ... me thinks this first stage release on something new

That's a fairly old feature, at least to display various options. If you mean the specific "Find web pages from the site" item, yeah, that does feel new to me.

As for why make it easy, I'm surprised it wasn't there before. I'd guess the reason would be is that it makes it easy for support to respond to all those "I'm not listed on Google" messages. They'd say type your domain name in, then click that option to see all the pages we have from you.

the advance search features in google are pretty cool if you know how to use them, like the site:www.davidnaylor.co.uk will bring back 268 pages in my domain then you add site:www.davidnaylor.co.uk Matt Cutts and it brings back the page with matt's comment on it..

ok we all know that google screensavers use the keywords been searched at that moment in time scrolling up the screen, if you have ever been to a google office they usually project them onto the wall ... anyway I'm waffling..

but not many people search "site:" ...

so how about bring the masses the advance search options in a more user friendly way... so first they add site: then search within this site (keyword) etc etc ... googles interface for the masses has always lacked something maybe a slight redesign into the more portal ways of thinking ??
