Google is not indexing my site??

Hi,

I have removed all query parameters from my site and used apache rewrite to display them as folders, such as:

/content/blogcategory/74/54/

Then, I have submitted my page to google almost 2 months ago, but the site is still not crawled/indexed.

Do you have any idea, why it does not index my page?

Furthermore, the google index count says:

"©2005 Google - Searching 8,058,044,651 web pages"

And, this number looks like it is not changing for a long while. Did google stop indexing new sites? Or is it my site that is causing the problem?

Any idea?
Thanks!

I don't think it is your site that has caused Google's index to have stopped growing (j/k)

Have you checked your logs to know if googlebot has spidered any of the pages? It could be that they could have been spidered but are simply not ranking well. Without knowing the site, it isn't possible for anyone to check.

Do you have any links from other sites pointing to your site. They are very important, and they usually bring Google's spider out more quickly than submitting does - that's what people say, anyway. I always rely on links, and never submit, so I don't know how slow submitting is these days.

I've looked into the site and I found that Yahoo! has 26 of its pages indexed, MSN has none and Google has none. Yahoo! shows no links to the site from other sites.

Google lists only the domain name - not its Title and no text from the page. It means that Google is aware of the page, presumably from the submission, but hasn't spidered it yet. Since no links from other sites are showing in Yahoo!, which does have 26 of the site's pages, it's reasonable to assume that Google also knows of no links, so I strongly suggest that you get some links from other sites.

A quick way of getting links from other sites is to submit your site to free directories. You can find an excellent list of directories that are search engine friendly (the links point straight to your site), are free to submit to, and do not require reciprocal links, at http://info.vilesilencer.com/main.php?rock=add_url.php (it's not my resource, btw).

Many of those directories are quick to add your site, but you are likely to have a problem because your site isn't in English. Try to find directories in your own language - DMOZ may have a section in your language, and being in a language other than English, it may be quite quick to get listed.

Apart from directories, you could find on-topic sites that don't compete with you, and request link exchanges. You could also post in forums that allow links in signatures.

However you go about it, you do need links from other sites.
