8 - 10 results per search

anyone else notice that some searches turn up 8 results, some turn up 9, and some 10? any idea why this is? I have my own conspiracy theories but lets see what anyone else thinks

Yes indeed i've been seeing this for quite some time now.

Also noticed that for some searches MSN limit the number of results to 250 (compared to the ~1000 for G and Y!)

Do you mean it says results 1-10, but only shows 8 or 9?
or do you mean total results?

hi -- no I mean it says "results 1 - 8" or sometimes "results 1 - 9" and then goes on to show only that many results.

here's some examples:

computers - 8
laptops - 8
cars - 10
clothes - 10
airfare - 9

two term searches:
discount airfare - 10
insurance quotes - 10
used cars - 8
search engine - 10 (this is a funny one -- take a look yourself)


I just picked these terms out randomly. I'm sure there are more with 2+ terms that only return 8 results, or 9.

It's nothing major but I do find it somewhat annoying. like I said I have my own theories but I personally get tired of all the anti-microsoft stuff so I'll just keep it to myself for now lol but any other ideas are welcome
