Yep, I see a small increase via those. Still only showing less than 25% of my total for pages worthwhile.

Dave: Yep Google is still showing 20% of links give or take 20%.
For those that are slow that means Google will show 0% to 40% of the links a site really has. 20% give or take 20% : ) Last edited by bobmutch : 12-17-2004 at 11:15 PM. |

any backlink updates are irrelevant anyway. You'll never see all the links on Google so it doesn't matter. It's a non-event. Want to see the links? Try MSN or Yahoo to see all those who link back to you

ThouShaltSeo: BL updates are not irrelevant IMO. It is a good time to look at your Rankings if you don't keep a close eye on them. It's the time that real PR is usually updated. While the link: command is irrelevant as it only shows abut 20% of you links the BL update is not irrelevant IMO. '
For example I have seen a major shift in my Rankings after the last BL update. Like for #1 to #56 for one term. |

I see rankings normally changing before a backlink update. However, as has been said, it's pretty much a non-event. Certainly no use in chasing data centers.
The wiley ones check their rankings without waiting for a BL update. |

coincidence and has nothing to do with the increase in the number of backlinks shown by G. Just means that google decided to recalculate everything at that time.
Saying I gained links in G is meaningless in my opinion, that's what I essenatially meant. Quote:
