A New Content Inclusion Program at Yahoo Local

Yahoo has rolled out a new enhanced business listings program at Yahoo Local that allows a business to add additional information, photos and links to promotional pages for a simple fee of $9.95 per month, with no cost-per-click charges. As with Yahoo's web page paid inclusion program, the company says that participating in the program has no effect on relevance rankings in local search results.

The bottom line for anyone operating a business: The new enhanced listings program is elegant, easy to use and a no-brainer to participate in. It's a supplement, rather than a replacement for Overture's Local Match program, and a great way to gain exposure in an area where Yahoo is clearly focusing a lot of resources.
