MSN Loves Screen Scraping Applications
In a blog entry at MSN Search blog named Search Beta Extensions, they come out at brag about how people are making rank checking tools and other extensions. Most other engines do not allow this in their TOS and some times go after companies that do this. MSN, on the other hand, says its ok. Danny wrote on this at his http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/041202-131011 ]blog[/url].
I am both surprised, confused and delighted. |

reeks of desperation for industry attention to me, that's got to be the most boring blog on the planet - they miss the point entirely and are way to tranparent in their attempts to grab industry attention.
I find it quite insulting. |

Funny you say "insulting" - I was thinking of saying "disgusted" because I had that feeling when I read the blog entry. But I did not know where that feeling came from.
I was going to wait to discuss this with my therapist before including those comments |

I'm thrilled that MSN is so concerned about the community - I can't understand your perspectives. To me, Google's aloofness and mystery and general disdain for webmasters is ludicrous, while MSN's openness and clear attention to the community is a very positive thing.
Thanks MS Search Team - you rock. |
