Google PR ranking icon and Alexa Button....too early to display on site?

I have installed a Google PR ranking icon on each of my websites. One is coming up a page rank 4. I guess that is not too bad, but not great either.

My other 2 sites have a page rank of 3 each.

Obviously these figures display on each of my websites for all to see.

Being that each of their rankings are so low for now, wonder if its smart to have them display any statistics period, even if at the botton.

How bad is PR 3 and 4 by the way and in saying that, still certainly better than seeing ZEROS.

I have also put an ALEXA ranking button only on my PR 4 site but its only showing 6 incoming links and no other stats information. I had submitted my information a long time back to Alexa. Again showing a button that states "no rank available", is this also not in my best interest for now?

My PR 4 site for example is only receiving on average 100 hits a day at this point. What would have to happen before I see my PR increase? How do they even figure these incremental rankings? All so confusing..

But you guys are the experts...
Thanks for your help!

before placing anything on your site you usually want to have a reason. why do you want them posted on your site?

PR4 might be decent for porn. it kinda depends on the industry. PageRank is just an estimation of connectivity. If you had a webmaster forum one would expect to see a PR6 or higher, but if you have a local woodworking site you may be able to do fine w a PR2 or something.

you are wasting your screen space to market Alexa when it provides no meaningful data to your site visitors. sounds like a bad idea to me.

PageRank, traffic, and rankings are perhaps somewhat independant of one another. PageRank is a measure of connectivity or link popularity. for PageRank to increase you will need to acquire more inbound links. the improvements are gradual in rankings and other measurements. you need to outgrow (get more links or build more content) your sector of the web to continually see increases in traffic.
