Google automatically inserting an extra line into some PPC ads

Has anyone else seen this?

Google testing job numbers in PPC ads

Google are automatically inserting an extra line into some job ads in the UK, displaying the number of jobs available online. I have managed to replicate this with a search on "marketing jobs".

Interestingly, in that case only 1 of the 3 ads showed the extra line. The other 2 ads in the banner position already mentioned job numbers in the actual ad description, so this may be the reason for Google not showing the extra line in that case.

I'd be interested to know if this is a highly limited test or if other people are seeing similar things on recruitment searches.

That's interesting. I tried to recreate what you were seeing and couldn't with several attempts. With Google now providing the "+1" button, I could see them actually testing adding another line to content.

Re: Google automatically inserting an extra line into some PPC ads

there was a rumour going around a bit that AdWords descriptions were getting revamped so that the first line was your heading.

also, the last line could become an address or something similar to Site Links on organic listings.

The rumor is true. They are testing a ton of variations right now, some are the heading and body text line 1 in the heading, url in the heading, coupon offers, and many many more.

Personally anyway I can differentiate my ad from the competition is welcome.
