The Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance
Hey Everybody,
If you haven't heard the news, I wanted to let you know that Yahoo! and Microsoft have received U.S. and E.U. regulatory clearance for their search transaction. The Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance will provide a competitive search platform that we believe will drive innovation in search and search advertising, offer a more engaging and personalized experience for consumers, and create greater value for advertisers and publishers. It will not immediately affect your account. We've created two websites to provide information about the alliance in general, how it will affect advertisers and other interested parties, and what's going to happen next. I invite you to visit searchalliance.com or The Yahoo! Transition Center for the details. I'd be happy to also entertain your questions here, although--having just received regulatory clearance--I hope you understand that we don't yet have all of the answers. Cheers, YahooPete |

Re: The Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance
Pay-Per-Click Marketing is more like traditional advertising – you pay to be shown in the search engine listings for specific keyword phrases. But unlike traditional media, you don't pay for impressions, you only pay when someone actually clicks on your ad – hence the term "pay-per-click." When you make a 'keyword buy', your listings are shown in the blue area below. These are also known as the paid listings or sponsored links, but are referred to in the SEM industry as pay-per-click (PPC)

Re: The Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance
@ AussieWebmaster:
All Yahoo! Sponsored Search advertisers will use the adCenter platform for their paid search campaigns following their transition, and the "Panama" system (and interface) will be decommissioned. Yahoo! will provide advertisers with direct access to 13 months of historical data from our Sponsored Search platform (Panama) for a specified time period following completion of the transition in each market. The post-transition unified search marketplace will provide numerous benefits to advertisers, including increased volume, greater ease of doing business, and increased innovation. |

Re: The Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance
sad part about this is I am getting a much lower CPA for a couple of my campaigns from adCenter and the same for some from Yahoo.
What will happen when they are combined?
