Blocked Domains increase to 500 domains per account
All,
I wanted to share some news with our advertisers. We just increased the number of Blocked Domains allowed per U.S. account from 250 to 500, to provide advertisers with more control over their target audience. For more info, please take a look at this post on the YSM Blog: http://www.ysmblog.com/blog/2008/11/...d-domains-500/ Thanks, YahooPete |

Re: Blocked Domains increase to 500 domains per account
Google used to have a limit, but they raised it to some huge number months ago. Why is Yahoo's so small?

Re: Blocked Domains increase to 500 domains per account
SiteTruth,
If Yahoo allowed everyone run a placement report to first identify who is running our ads and then second allow us to block ALL the "under-performing" ones it would result in advertisers competing on a small % of websites. The millions of poor publishers charging millions of advertisers just one click here and there passes by many smaller or less sophisticated advertisers without much difficulty. This is a large profit center for Yahoo. Google has attacked this issue for the past couple years. MSN never jumped into the syndicated partner/publisher deal so they really never had this issue to contend with. Yahoo is the only one that has dragged their feet to provide any kind of quality of controls to advertisers. It is one of the only revenue streams that is keeping them alive at this point. Don't get me wrong though, I am a HUGE cheerleader for Yahoo to succeed, which is why I am so hard on them here. If they turned this issue around two years ago they would be competing not retreating.
