Hi Guys,
I am looking for loooonnnggg list of search engines. I was wondering how many Search Engines Actually exist over the internet. I have read so many articles and also on blog that there are more then 2000 search engines and SEO company will submit for you. I don’t think that’s true. I have search over internet and fond so many address containing search engine List but in that list you will find web directories also. Like on these address: <snip>

Know if you visit the links you will find that they also include Directories.
Know the question is that do really 2000 Search Engine exists?. If then how can we find . I have compile a small list of search engine witch I have found after search, let me share it with you.

Okay folks, no more links. Let's start a discussion, I'll throw out some questions.

1) How many of those in the OP's list are actually web search engines?

2) How many of those actually drive any traffic across the web?

3) Are there more than possibly 5, 10, maybe 15, that a webmaster should be concerned about?

4) Are there any on that list that offer the searcher a unique experience? A different way of accessing information from across the web?

However certain regional search engines are more popular as compared to others.

For example Baidu.com is more popular in china as compared to Google.com

Similarly Aol.com is quite popular in US. However aol pulls search results from Google

There are many search engines today including the list plus the ones in beta stage plus the ones that are currently being developed

Yeah I agree there are some search engine that is more popular in their country than the rest. And I think there are even more search engine websites that are being developed as of today

Let me tell you the truth: there are as many SEs as you can image. Depends on how you define search engines.
SEs that are really dominating the Internet is less than 10.
