NEW: Yahoo! Front Page (Beta)

Yahoo! just released what they call "The new streamlined Front Page".

Quote:
To get you familiar with it, read the highlights below:
  • A more organized page with alphabetical product listings makes it easy to navigate Yahoo!
  • Customizable navigation buttons give you one-click access to your favorite Yahoo! services.
  • Weather updates for your city, or any other, appear right on the page.
  • Stay current and see what everyone is talking about with the Buzz Log.
  • One search box lets you search websites, news, images, products, and more.
  • A convenient link lets you sign in quickly and an icon shows you the number of new emails in your inbox.
  • A streamlined directory makes it easy to browse web sites by topic.

Wow! It really is the best www.yahoo.com homepage I've ever seen, since it's more personalized to me

Now, since I love to use the http://my.yahoo.com feature it seems to me that Y! is bluring the line between both of them.

The other thing I notice is that Y! is also giving it's directory a nice boost, so website owners who pay the fee to get in can be a little more relieved now.

I also noticed that it added the new Local (non-beta any more) to the search tabs, I mean links, so that's very useful.

Looking nice Yahoo!

My Yahoo Beta

I use SBC Yahoo DSL; when I try to upgrade to the new look, I get 'can't at this time.' What's the story here? A page is a page is a page is...

How do you figure? first thing I noticed is that the directory links are no longer on the yahoo home page at all. In fact, if you click the directory link at the top you still don't get to the directory links, you have to perform a search.

This looks like a considerable downgrade.
