Google !!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Danny and Chris, I've been reading you for years and years. I've learnt many things from you. It's time to open again your eyes wide shut.

beta.exalead.com (Exalead is a company based in Paris).

- A very new UI
- 1 billion documents
- Dynamical classifications on the left (Refining keywords, categories, document type, etc.)
- Safe preview
- Thumbnails for all pages...

I would like to understand the reasons why noone talks about this searchengine. Do I dream ? Or are we so "gogolized" (I don't eat Google yet) that we aren't able to distinguish the new jewels born from the net ? Have we lost our curiosity ? When Google moove its finger..., should we make it as an event ?
Ok. Nevertheless, I remember a time : Yahoo, Altavista, Inktomi... Google... and then... : MSN at the end.

Just note, I search with Google, I like Google, but I love choice and diversity.

Cheers,

Fred

Hmmmm those "me and a buddy of mine" stories can go along way. I always like to hear names.

I think G is what it is because of it's simplicity. You start putting thumbnails, menus, icons and such in the SERPS people will find something easier to use.

Thanks for Link, looks interesting

Hi,

thanks for the link of exalead.com, Fred. It looks very interesting, I like the new layout and features like collapsing links and do NEAR searches (Query Options )

Also interesting is the proximity ranking feature.

Jan
