Best tool to track SEO performance for keywords

Hi All,

I manage multiple websites and doing SEO work for them. I have been using multiple methods to track keyword performance (10 main keywords + variations ~ 100 for each site).

I have tried Webposition4 and it creates nice reports etc. However, I wanted your expert advise on the best tool to track the performance of keywords on SE.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Rajat Garg

According to me Search engines for different search terms. Be aware that these tools may contravene Search engines terms of service. Best known ranking tools include:
Advanced Web Ranking - I use this one most and recommend it. Also tracks PPC. Digital Point keyword tracking: Unlike the others, this is a free service, but can be used for smaller sites.

Re: Best tool to track SEO performance for keywords

When you use such a tool, too many queries could be sent to search engines and this is what they don't accept. They don't accept automated tools, which I suppose that could block their servers, with the number of queries (that's what I think).

I also use Advanced Web ranking and I'm happy with it. They have friendly options which not sent too many queries to search engines. I never get banned by search engines. I also, appreciate their fast answer to my problems.

Re: Best tool to track SEO performance for keywords

You need advanced analytics to go beyond what words are getting you traffic... if you want to learn which are making you money then you need to have something like WebSideStory whose software allows tagless tracking - you set it up with code on page and a cookie being set etc.

Like Aussie said at the end of the day traffic won't pay the bills!

Conversions are what you need to be tracking and trying to get more of in the future.

Google Analytics is similar to WebSideStory, Omniture or others except it's FREE.

If you have a site making less than 1/2 a million USD, give it a try.

Beu is right Google Analytics is fine for smaller companies.... the more expensive advanced services may not be the right fit financially.... grow to them
