Yahoo Submit Basic, Website Accepted Then

became Ineligible after 3 months, I also submitted a second URL and was not accepted - Ineligible. I have written emails to yahoo and they replied 3 times.
1. We are sorry. Unfortunately, we are unable to get the specifics of why URLs are rejected.
2. We are sorry, but your subscribed web page(s) do not fully meet the Content Guidelines that you agreed to when you subscribed. We are not able to get the specifics from the Quality Assurance Review, but we can assure you that you were given every consideration. Please refer to the Search Submit Content Guidelines, which can be found at http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/srchsb/ssb_gl.php
3. We are sorry. Unfortunately, we are unable to get the specifics of why URLs are rejected.

If they do know why is was rejected, who does know?

Re: Yahoo Submit Basic, Website Accepted Then

I had the exact same thing happen last week. I registered back in April. They accepted five URLs and began submitting them. Last week I noticed the status had changed from Active to Ineligible. I emailed them and they said that my URLs are registered with another search service which makes them ineligible for Yahoo Search Submit Basic, but they won't tell me which service they are registered with. This is because they are not registered with another service. This is part of their scam. It is too late to have my credit card company kick back the charge. I am in the process of contacting the BBB and Texas Attorney General's office.

I called the phone number for Yahoo Search Marketing and chose the option for Search Submit Express support. The person said they can only email the Search Submit Basic department because they don't have a contact phone number. What BS.

What actions are you taking or contemplating?

Re: Yahoo Submit Basic, Website Accepted Then

I just recently submitted our url http://www.byrddesigns.com to their service. It was called ineligible. I have been trying to get our url listed with yahoo ever since they switched to their own algorithm from google's. We used to be listed very highly for various search terms like hair accessories and victorian jewelry. We still remain ranked on the first or second page of google for these terms.

I used to do a significant amount of pay per click advertising and found that the service wasn't cost effect so we stopped. Ever since I stopped paying for overtures paid inclusion, yahoo dropped our site from their search engine. I suspect that this may have something to do with our url being ineligible.

I have been unsuccessful at contacting anyone by phone who could help. I have sent a message from their contact support page however I'm not very optimistic.

I would be interested in knowing if anyone has had similar experiences and if they have had any success in getting their url changed from ineligible to accepted.

Thanks,
Adam

Re: Yahoo Submit Basic, Website Accepted Then

I got some more nothing emails from Yahoo today thier response:

Now note this is a reply from the URL that was listed for 2 months. I am still investigating this and will update with replies here.

Re: Yahoo Submit Basic, Website Accepted Then

your experience is very similar to mine. I was using Yahoo Search Submit Express last year when it was run by Overture and cancelled because of the costs involved with the per-click model. They still owe me about $20 from that account. They said billing was done by a third party but would not tell me who. they gave me a number but it was bogus.

I also have received emails saying the same thing as yours. I was able to locate the physical address and contact information today for Yahoo Search Marketing and file a complaint through the BBB office based in LA, California. Yahoo has received 48 other complaints along the same lines as ours.

Go to this site www.labbb.org and do a search for Yahoo Search Marketing in the BBB Company Reports section. You will get one result with the following info below. Click on the link and it will open a new window with the company report. You can look at their history and even file a complaint right from that screen in the lower right corner and print a detailed report.

Re: Yahoo Submit Basic, Website Accepted Then

I had the same problem....
They rejected then they did not review after I made the correction for 6 weeks. I called my credit card company and get the credit. And the 2 days later they did review my site..funny... Waste of money, and time..

Re: Yahoo Submit Basic, Website Accepted Then

Ohh I had another bad experience on Yahoo PPC.. I do not use PPC, i JUST WANT TO USE MY $50 coupon.. I added 30 on the top of it. Then I start to get automatic charge.. another $30 charge. There is no option to stop it unless you stop your campaign. I was not able to use my last $20-30..
I stopped the campaign and decrresed the charge amount to $5.. Guess what.. I was still getting charge..I had to contact them.. They credit the charge of $5 and said they are sorry..

Can you imagine how many companies t hey get like this.. do not think most of them contact Yahoo to get credit..

Thanks
Timu

Re: Yahoo Submit Basic, Website Accepted Then

I think if each of us contacts the BBB in LA, CA using the info in one of my previous posts, we all stand a better chance of either getting a full refund or getting our URLs reactivated. When the program works, it is very effective. The problem is the diferent Yahoo search programs either can't or won't communicate with each other. They are claiming my Search Submit Express account is still open when tech support for Search Express tells me it is closed and I can log on myself and see it is closed. They still owe me some money because I closed it when it got below $20 before they had a chance to charge my credit card again. Maybe that is the problem, but they should be smart to tell that the account is closed and no URLs are being submitted with the Search Submit Express service. Their last request to my third email is below. They don't plan on doing a thing unless they are forced to.

"During the subscription process, it is stated that only URLs that do not participate in other Yahoo! Search Services such as Search Submit Express or Search Submit Pro are allowed in the program. URLs are constantly monitored and will be rejected anytime they fall out compliance.

As we have explained, our customer support team does not have access to this confidential information and are unable to determine the source of the conflicting subscription."

I would suggest reporting them. This is a searchable complain database such as rippoffreports.com and similar that will bring up company name if somebody is searching for them.
