I've never really been an expert on search engines, tbh they have always confused me so i've avoided haha! However upon develop my new idea i find myself in a position were i am forced to face my issues with search engine submission! I don't currently have a budget for web marketing and wondered if there was such a thing as free search engine submission? I did a google search and found an absolute minefield of sites offering different search engine submission options.. horrible!! Whats your advice? What are the best submission sites to go to that will submit your site to the maximum number of search engines for free? Or is it best to submit myself manually? Thanks for reading, i hope someone can help guide me through this dark, dark nightmare ![]() |

Paid and free search engine submission services are a waste of time, Google probably wouldn't even notice if the "Suggest A Site" form went down for a week. If the bots haven't yet found your site, does it really deserve to be in the index and how will it rank without any inbound links?
Most of these services will auto-submit your site to the big 3 engines and then spread your information across worthless FFA sites and data capture sites. The reason that the services work is that in the list of "5000+ search engines" are a couple of half-respectable free directories which GYMA index regularly and find your site. The quickest way to get into the search results is to submit your site to approx 8-12 authoritative directories for free. Search Engines will then crawl the directories and find your site. Getting people to find you in the search results is a different matter all together though. You should either find a reputable SEO company or study a good SEO Book for this (depending on your budget). ![]() Rob |

rob ), you find your way into the rankings eventually. You should never be suckered into "submitting" to search engines! They crawl the Internet to find sites; which is much faster than waiting for people to submit them. They crawl trusted directories fairly often, so many people end up suggesting to start with Yahoo! and BOTW, for example. The fees associated with these are well worth it. I have often told people that the $299/year for the Y! directory is one of the most valuable investments that can be made in a site. If you read through these forums you will realize there is more to do depending on the competitiveness of the terms you are seeking to rank for. |

I'm sooo glad i came here and asked for help now, thanks for the tips!! The site is only freshly uploaded so the bots haven't had much time to crawl yet. I'm also working hard around the clock to build relevant link partners so its all looking good.
Sounds as if i just have to get on some of those directories now and make sure the meta tags are right. I'm under the impression that the most important key words should match in the page title, description and first bit of text on the page is that right? Thanks again guys... if theres anything i can do to return the favour let me know (although you i guess you may not be interested in the intricacies of mixing music or scratching haha... but then again you never know!). ![]() Last edited by warpedproject : 04-23-2007 at 10:07 AM. |

1210's all the way!
Never attempted to scratch with belt drive, i suspect it wouldn't quite work.. but you never know if your touch is light enough you may be able to pull it off. Well check out djtutorial.com and let me know what you think. Thanks again everyone! Last edited by evilgreenmonkey : 04-23-2007 at 11:52 AM.
