What about clicktracks and split testing (costs 10 K?!)
So I've been looking at clicktracks for six months because it simply looks awesome. The problem is I really wanted to use A/B split testing with it, but then the price jumps to over 9000 dollars...difficult to justify that kind of expense to the guy I'm working for right now.
What I'm wondering is if anyone has used clicktracks together with some other split testing service, such as vertster, and how well they work together. It seems that there's a few people in SEO who like clicktracks, but what version of it do you use (hoste/pro/jdc etc) |

I love ClickTracks. It's worth every penny.
But I can't speak directly to the A/B testing you mention. My agency, when I was there, did that type of testing using a variety of different tagging methods and then used ClickTracks to view the results of those tag tests. I can't spell out our exact procedures because I do have access to CT at the moment in order to replicate the steps. If you just look at A/B how you would with regards to any tracking tools, using ClickTracks will allow you the best method for sorting and filtering that data into a meaningful group or subset of results. Use a specific tag for each A or B ad and you'll be able to filter the results based on the url parameter in the cgi.http_referer. I'm not sure why there would be a different price level for what you are looking to do. It seems to me that url-param based filtering using Pro. My company bought the Pro-ISP version, for 100 sites, but I don't think the reporting is any different than the single site Pro version. |
