HTML Tags

Hi all,

I have a questing regarding html tags.

I was at the local SEO Conference and had interesting conversation with a local webmaster. He said that one of his clients was using a <name="keyword"> tag which included about 2-3 pages( MS Word) of keywords. According to him his client was banned not to long ago and is now changing his site.
The interesting part was that he told me his other client did the same thing and now also has a tong of keyword but in separate Meta tags.

Example.
<META NAME="author" CONTENT ( keyword)
<meta name="audience"( keywords)
<meta name="classification" content ( keywords)
<meta name="category" content ( keywords)
<META NAME="object" CONTENT ( keywords)
<META NAME="subject" CONTENT ( keywords)
<META NAME="description" CONTENT ( keywords)

Now, according to the webmaster the client does not and can not get banned because of the way they words are inserted.
Is that true? Because I looked at their site and they are ranked number one organically. (clients are in different business from another)

I rank organically from 3-7 places, now if Google lets this slide I will gladly do the same to my site and be ranked well. Please let me know what you think?

Thank You

Doing the same is not wise. Besides that, meta tags has not been a ranking factor for several years with Google. Rather make sure your meta tags contain keywords that can be found on the page it is located. Then rather spend some time on doing keyword research and optimizing your onpage factors, regular content additions, obtaining themed contextual backlinks and deeplinks and spent some quality time looking for strategies that can launch a link bait campaign.
