Adding multiple match types to all
A discussion came up as to whether or not you should add broad, phrase, and exact match to ALL of the keywords in your.
My thinking is this, for single keywords and some 2 keyword phrases, but not for many 3+ keyword phrases. Managing a 2000 keyword account would now go to a 6000 keyword account and I am not sure it is necessary considering in many accounts 10% of the keywords generate about 90% of the revenue/conversions. Also, I would think the more keywords in your keyword phrase, the less impact it will have. So you are essentially increasing the number of words you have to manage, but it may not be worth the time and return. Other thoughts? |

I run lots of campaigns with lots of keywords. I use mostly broad match, but occasionally I'll use:
[keyword] "keyword" keyword just so I can get the traffic on an exact match independently from the others in order to check the ROI. If ROI on that is bad, and the others are fine, then I switch to: -[keyword] "keyword" keyword But I use this mostly for testing purposes. I certainly don't do this expansion on all my keywords or on a routine basis. |
