Managing a Large PPC Client Base

I am researching the different PPC management solutions and need some advise regarding how to manage a relatively large client base. I think I have narrowed down the field (though open to other options) to GoToast and Keyword Max.

We primarily work with local business. Though they do not have very large ad spends, there is a larger volume of cleints than the typical agency might handle.

The problem I am seeing is that the PPC management programs seem to be designed for the management of large clients (1 client spending $300,000 - rather than 300 clients spending $1,000).

I have spoken with several reps who advice opening up seperate accounts for each client. With so many clients and ad outlets, the # of accounts to manage could easily reach over 1,000 (say 300 clients with an account in overture, adwords and findwhat).

I thought that I could just seperate each client into a seperate campaign but:

1. Google only allows 25 campaigns per account
2. The PPC software can't distinguish which keywords belong to which domain (client)
3. Spending and clicks for engine totals will be incorrect by domain (client), it will only

show totals for ALL the clients in the account

Has anyone dealt with similiar issues? Any suggestions are appreciated.

I think the reason no one has replie to your question is because no one that has stumble uppon this thread know the answer.

I think most people aren't lucky enought to face the problem of "how to manage 300 PPC clients" .

I am dealing with similar issues. I found that PPCBidTracker (that I have an affiliation to) seems to be a cheaper solution than most other but it is still difficult to pay for it on small budget campaigns - especially campaigns with many keywords but a low monthly budget.

I have been thinking about making my own, simple system, to just collect and combine all the numbers. Most of the small campaigns don't need much bidding-management but with so many campaigns you do need something to overview them all: When they stop, max CPCs allowed, strategies etc etc. However, we are still waiting for a Google AdWords API - I don't really won't to deal with the hassle of screen scraping.

I was thinking of using the e-mail reporting as a simple way of collecting campaign data in my own back end systems but I haven't got around to it yet. Thats should, however, be pretty simple - except for the nightmares of lost data when Google change the format
