What makes a great Landing Page?

I'm intested in finding out what are people's experiences with landing pages?
What works for people in terms of what to do and what not to do.

I'm a big fan of Bryan and Jeffrey Eisenberg and their theories on persuasion.

What are people's tried and trusted methods of creating great landing pages with great CTR?

Is is all about copy?

What makes a good landing page? Relevancy.

Use the keywords your visitor used. Make your action point simple and easy to see. There are many landing page tips. You can do a search on Google for "Landing page tips" or something like that.

As the Eisenberg brothers say ... make sure your ad is relevant to your landing page. If you give an offer in the ad ... make sure that offer is visible on the landing page. That offer could be the only reason your prospect clicked on your ad.

In addition to relevancy, the page has to look appealing and drive the visitor to the desired action.

landing page performance

Of course it goes without saying that the performance on the page is acceptable to the user. To take it a step further, I think the lower down the list of results you show, the more it counts because users become more anxious as they search through multiple listings. You can track this as reject rate (the % of those who see the landing page and immediately leave to go elsewhere)
