Ideas for Marketing Approach to Pixel Websites

Hi !
Is pixel advertising dead? I'm using Gpix from tufat.com - works great and all -but I can't seem to get a single pixel purchase. Any ideas for a good marketing approach to pixel websites? Need some tips.

The pixel marketing idea was just a fad - success was directly proportional to the originality of the idea.

Perhaps there may be an opportunity to adapt the idea into a new format. Eg create pixel ad space and allow forum posters to purchase space with points (gained from posting) - this would be limited to business type forums or forums with solid communitys where users may like to use the space for some fun messages, etc.

But a page full of adverts? Who'd pay to be on that? *looks at AdSense text link units"....

The original pixel marketing sites gained success not on the implementation of idea, but on the buzz surrounding it. That buzz is long gone.

g1smd will become famous soon enough
The first US and UK pixel-based sites got all the attention and then all of that attention moved on to something else.

Many of the pixel sites that are starting now are pure spam, just a glorified link-farm, and they will never do well in organic search results.

Most of the pixel sites that are here now, will be gone and forgetten by year end. Unless you can find a niche market sector that will support it in the long term, the idea is already dead.
