hiding page content from spiders
does anyone know if there is a way to hide a selected area of html content on a page from spiders (mostly to make content below a search form appear higher on the page).
I have found a reference to the following tags: <!--noindex_start--> text/html to hide <!--noindex_end-->; and <!--htdig_noindex--> text/html to hide <!--/htdig_noindex-->. Does anyone know if the above would work with googlebot and slurp or is there another way (other than rebuilding the search thing)? Thanks in advance. richardo |

Yahoo is considering adding a tag like that, but they haven't introduced it. So none of the major searchengines allow you to parse out parts of your page through tagging, unfortunately.
