Question about adding sites to new free web directory

I'm looking to links on my new directory (webdirectory.seoinfosys.com). I need to populate the directory with some links to start it off. Can I just add sites as I please or do I need permission to post the links on my directory?

In most cases you can add sites to a directory without gaining permission of the site owner. That is how DMOZ started and even today I am sure editors will find sites they like and add them as they wish.

There are rare cases where sites prohibit listing or linking to their site which is just plain stupid IMO but these are very rare indeed.
