How To Do Automatic Keyword Insertion With adCenter?
Does this work the same at MSN as it does at Google? If I want the title of the ad to be the search term with all keywords capitalized, is that possible? Can I submit as the title of my ad... {KeyWord} as opposed to {keyword} to make this happen? Also, what if my search term is too long to fit in the title of the ad? If this is the case, what will my ad display as? Is it possible to submit an ad of {KeyWord:Buy Widgets Here} where "Buy Widgets Here" represents what will be displayed if a search term in this particular ad group is too long to fit in the title of the ad?
If anyone has any experience with this on MSN, I would appreciate your help. Thanks! |

It works different than it does on Google. Currently it does not support capitalization through changing the case of a parameter. What you can do is create a param1 for your url, a param2 that is the capitalized version of your keyword or a shortened version if it is too long.
Hopefully they will add more features to this as time goes on. If you need to check a lot of lengths us the =LEN(cell location) in excel. Example: A1_________B1 DOG______=LEN(A1) after you calculate it is will be DOG________3 You should check out their FAQ : H. http://advertising.msn.com/Home/Arti...97&linkid=3228 I. http://advertising.msn.com/Home/Arti...97&linkid=3229 J. http://advertising.msn.com/Home/Arti...97&linkid=3231 K. http://advertising.msn.com/Home/Arti...97&linkid=3232 |

The whole parameter thing that MSN is trying to do really needs some work. I don't understand why they would attempt something so confusing when they don't even give you the ability to assign your keywords as titles in capital letters. Lower case titles on PPC ads look amatuerish.

Agreed that the lowercase keywords look unprofessional. Also ran into the issue of parameters having character length limits so it restricts what one you can place a URL in or ad copy.

Do you mean to say, you don't think 1024 characters {param 1} is enough for the landing page url?
![]() As for the title, you can only use 25 characters, which pretty much sucks. Even the 30 you are allowed by the competitors is too short, IMHO. But you can use a keyword param in the title and ad copy. You just have to make sure to stay within the darned limits ![]() |
