How to promote a huge portal on the web
hi
i am new to SEO industry i dont know how to promote the huge portal i have done SEO and submited to major search engines and directories also done link exchange to relevant site is there any other way to promote my portal other than submitting to dir/engines and PPC .......... |

To get it effected, possibly you should wait till for google next update, BTW You should optimize the "keyword", its playing important role in ranking.

SEO isn't everything. Another way to promote is using press releases. Try and make a newsworthy story about your site and generate a buzz about your site. This can get bloggers, news sites, forum posters and others to write about your site.

Most ot the PR sites are filled with plenty of PR news, I dont think all are newsworty and real. Secondly I doubt the visitors are reading complete news rather than the "head line". IMO SEO is a recommended way to go with, it might be not everything but it is something that a webmaster can not simply ignore.

Incentives. If you've got a huge site with very little users, give away full access until your numbers are where you're more comfortable. You've got to be charging for something I assume, so stop charging until you've got enough people that can word-of-mouth you into further growth.
