SEO Help in META, Comments & H1 Tags

Need some guide on SEO for my site.

I have used some thing which i have seen practically working for some site but should i used it i have no idea so help me in this.

1) This is one of the meta tags
<META CONTENT="Web Design Uk,......" name=key-phrases>
<META CONTENT="Web Design UAE,......" name=topic>
<META CONTENT="Web Design USA,....." name=subject>

2) Comment in meta tags
<!-- We provides Web Designing in UK, Web Promotion, UK designers, UAE, uk, usa, -->

3) I have Used H1 Tags & in style="display:none; in the beginning of the page.

4) In one Table row I have again comment out & use H1 tags

I have read many times in newsletter that if we try to cheat the search engine it will removal from their indexing.

What I have used will make my site in this category

My main target is google but i have followed other rule os Yaho, msn &Ask Jeeves & Teoma

Site klicksolution

If i have done any thing wrong then please guide me. Thanks

HI jatin23,

I'm afraid you've done lots of things wrong. I don't think its even allowed to post example URLs in the forums like this. I would read through the FAQ.

The use of 'display:none' in the CSS of your headings (H# tags) means that it's hidden. Hidden text is spam. Spam will get you banished from Google, not promoted, it'll get you banished from Yahoo, MSN, Ask and the others too.

I urge you to race to and read Google's Guidelines then circle back around and read Yahoo's Guidelines.

Stuffing keywords in comments does not work. The engines ignore this. If they didn't you would be spamming again.

Well it seems that you have done all the things not to be done sorry

The only meta datas that may be useful for SEO are meta-description and meta-keywords. Though their weight in algorithms is very very light. Much less that <title> and textual content.

Don't hide your headlines ! Just style them to integrate your website's look

Comments are useless concerning SEO. They are just comment after all not content.

And don't use keyword stuffing also.

Get back to work now

Juste a precision : there are legitimate uses of the CSS display "hidden" or "none" properties, like pseudo-popups or some menus. The use of these properties alone is not spam, even if the exemple given above was clearly spam.

A good rule of thumb is - don't do anything just for the search engines.

This is a hard rule of thumb to follow when you're an SEO company. I would look at it this way, though, what's special about your website? Why would anyone link to your website rather than any other SEO firm's site?

Glance around these forums. There are tight cliches of SEOers here. They're all happy to recommend one another and some even link to one another (perhaps via blogs, etc). You can't crack this circle with spam techniques. You need to successfully think up some amazing piece of lateral thinking and make a run with that.

There are legitimate uses for display "hidden" or "none". Lots. However, a recent witch hunt on these forums (and elsewhere) suggests to me that they're best kept clear of anyway. Even respected members of the forums can't seem to tell the difference.

I would side step being in the centre of any debate and not use the technique

All this comments & Style= display none I have seen for some site & it is showing in the first page of Google. But I know that this is some kind of spam.

Now I will not use this method for my site. I have a basic know of search engine & still I have not submitted the site to any search engine to crawl.

Is the rest of the rule I have applied are up to standard or any thing else I can add to make it more search engine friendly.
