Organic v Adwords - Any recent studies re click preferences?
The consensus regarding how many users preference organic search results over "sponsored links" is that it's around 2/3 organic, 1/3 sponsored.
I haven't seen anything that breaks this out further, because it's really not that simple. I know that when I'm searching for *information*, I totally ignore sponsored links. However, if I'm searching for "Hawaiian wedding planners", then I would probably consider the sponsored links, because I'm looking for a specific service and often the sponsored links are relevant to that. I find this interesting, but haven't seen much about it online, so if anyone has opinions here or can point me to some URLs, that'd be much appreciated. Tim |
