Analytics and Website Optimizer
Hi,
We use both website optimizer and analytics on several sites. When ever we run an A B test or any type of test we see a big increase in direct traffic and a big decrease in organic traffic. I am 100% sure that this isn't a shift in visitors more analytics having problems. On most of the sites traffic is very stable in both these areas until a test is run. Has anyone been having similar problems and more importantly does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks |

Re: Analytics and Website Optimizer
Sorry I cant answer your question directly, however I can support your conclusion. Our direct or "organic" statistics via Google Analytics has never been accurate.
We tested "optimizer" a few times and will never use it again. In our view that is a tool for mom and pop shops who have no time or experience to manage their campaigns and have budgets under 1k/month. It is only a step above set it and forget it. It is a huge step back from individual attention from an SEM. Discovery |

Re: Analytics and Website Optimizer
I must confess i have not noticed a similar result
But i view analytics as a guide rather than an accurate tally of my traffic. I look at the trends rather than the absolutes |
