No follow and "link juice" etc

Can someone explain about the significance of whether a link is a dofollow or nofollow etc

As I understand it, no follow means that PR will not be passed, but does it also mean that Google will disregard the backlink completely and give no value whatsoever?

Or will it still count as a link, but just wont do anything to boost your PageRank??

Is it worth getting no follow backlinks anyway?

Thanks

but it still counts towards the number of backlinks listed, say if you do a link:domain search on google?

Does it have value?

I would make sure you use sites that actually send traffic if you use no follow links from them.
Yes they index but do not follow

Re: No follow and "link juice" etc

No follow ;

"Nofollow" provides a way for webmasters to tell search engines "Don't follow links on this page" or "Don't follow this specific link."

We don't follow them. This means that Google does not transfer PageRank or anchor text across these links. Essentially, using nofollow causes us to drop the target links from our overall graph of the web. However, the target pages may still appear in our index if other sites link to them without using nofollow, or if the URLs are submitted to Google in a Sitemap. Also, it's important to note that other search engines may handle nofollow in slightly different ways.

NOFOLLOW is way to tell search engine that do not pass link to site.this way you will not get inbound links to your site.
it will not count as backlinks and google do not index site link from nofollow link tag.
