Effects of Proxy Server and Domain TLD

Hi Friends,

Let say I have an ecommerce portal and I would like to target a site in US and Europe market and my server is located in India. So do I need to create proxy servers in US and Europe to get better rankings in international markets.

As I think the load of the server will be balanced and cached copy of my site will reflect to US and Europe servers. Assume my site has .co.in domain and its well ranked with local search engines (Google.co.in).

Now if I want to target international markets do I need to take another domains (.com & .co.uk ) ? or I need to create sub domains? If yes then what kind of subdomains do I have to create?(please specify)

another question is, is there any technical drawback of creating proxy servers? Or any SEO related issues may occur if I use proxy servers for my sites?

Yes geographic TLD will influence results in specific regions and one of the very important factors is where the domain is hosted.

Even there are many cases I see around that .com domain, hosted in the UK has very good positions in google.co.uk and lot lower in google.com. It happens in either way.

Creating sub-domain for these purpose is not a good idea. And you may take another domain but make sure the content, target audience and an office address specified to same area of domain preference.

If you like to target specific location you may try Geo preference in Google Webmaster Tools else you can work hard as many times to get good quality quantity regional backlinks
