Correcting Information Returned By Bing?

When you search for my company's name [Dirt Cheap Widgets] you get an extended "Best Match" with about 8 links to pages from our navigation menu, which is great.

The problem is directly under that is this:

"Customer Service 877-###-####" - but the number given is our sales-only (non-CS) line. We do have a toll-free service number that we try to protect (prefer to handle issues via email), and we make it clear on our site that the sales number is SALES ONLY.

Any idea what steps I should take to get this pulled or swap in our service email or number?

Thanks,

You need to have a webmaster central account to get direct access to the site links or at least to have ones removed... try this http://www.google.com/support/webmas...n&answer=47334

Re: Correcting Information Returned By Bing?

Here are a couple of resources as well.

You can start by creating an account with them and monitoring your site Webmasters

Also, you may try to use these tags in your robots.txt file:

noarchive - Page Not Cached
noodp - Stops Description and Title Tag Overwrite by DMOZ
noydir - Stops Description and Title Tag Overwrite by Yahoo Directory
nosnippet - Stops Google from Generating Description Based on On-page Text

I am not sure which ones still work, but it may be worth a shot..

Also, by updating your sitemap and submitting it through the bing webmaster tool may get a newer version out there for you.

Hope this helps
