More of a results question than SEO...
Does anyone get a high conversion or even referral rate from Google Shopping? Anyone I've spoken to in the UK gets very few referrals from Google Shopping. I'm wondering if it's a geography based issue, or that the consensus is that Google Shopping just isn't used by customers. |

Re: Google shopping
Ditto to few results in the UK. I don't think it has caught on yet. I think it will, eventually, but it does mean keeping a weather eye on your competition and making sure your prices are highly competitive.

Conversions may be lower but everyone counts these days! As time goes on, I think this will change and that Google Shopping conversions will increase...

Re: Google shopping
Agreed. And as Google shopping insists on a single e-commerce enabled page per product, it is as important as ever to make those good landing pages as well. Clear and detailed descriptions of products, with good photos, and a simple call to action.

By the time people will accept it, but it won't be useful in current scenario. As I would love to make offers in these shopping sites, i didn't get better response, not even enough click to my landing pages. I thought a lot? what i need to do... I went down posting my items in Google shopping. I'll ready to accept when people will shop their needs from it, but for now no... |

Re: Google shopping
It has been my experience that Google Base uses much different criteria to give relevance in their results than in web results. So most people try to optimize for the natural listings and don't spend a lot of time on the feed they are sending out. This can cause them to get poor results. Maybe look and see if you have all of the fields populated, like ISBN, UPC, Stock, etc....
If you see a change, please let me know your findings, I would be very curious to know which (if any) pieces can have a direct impact on the rank of listing. |
