New QS: What is the Numeric Quality Multiplier?

I was excited - and scared - to see that the new QS changes have arrived today in all of my AdWords accounts. My first question is in regards to Quality Score and the way it is used to calculate Ad Rank and actual CPC. We now see a fractional QS, which is cool. But the AdWords help center reveals that this fractional QS means nothing. Instead, QS is calculated from a "Numeric Quality Multiplier", which I can't find any information on.

Pulled from the AdWords help center:

"Please note that the Quality Score detail is not the same as the numeric quality multiplier we use when calculating Ad Rank or cost-per-click (CPC). The Quality Score detail scale does not change the way that Quality Score is calculated or considered."

So, if the new QS fraction we're shown in our accounts is not used to calculate anything, what we really want to see is the "Numeric Quality Multiplier". Thoughts?
